Antiques = mid-century retro-ish … when did that happen?

Desperately seeking a couple items for the house, I thought what better way to add a little character and flare than to visit a local antique shop.

Wow.  Not that there’s anything wrong with the recent past, but sheez … when did antiques equate to mid- to not-so-mid-century furnishings?

While this aesthetic is just not for me, I had a great time gawking.  And Kent finally found a home for his ratan set.  The store agreed to pick it up, refinish it, sell it, and donate the proceeds to charity.  Score!

Kent and I had such a great day.  Viewing art with a great message, and such beauty.

The system has failed for many of the issues he held close to his heart, I surely hope we can do better – but it sure seems a challenge in today’s politics.
